GENERAL CANNABIS QUESTIONS
Are hemp and marijuana the same thing?
Technically, yes. Both hemp and marijuana are the same plant: Cannabis sativa. The difference is in how each plant affects you.
Hemp is federally legal because it contains less than 0.3% THC. These strains are used to make supplements, CBD, textiles, and more.
Marijuana is any cannabis strain with more than 0.3% THC. These are the strains that are used for their psychoactive effects.
Each type offers its own unique benefits and healing properties.
What medical conditions does marijuana treat?
Depending on which state you’re in, there are a number of conditions that qualify for medical marijuana. Some of the most common conditions are chronic pain, epilepsy, anxiety, Crohn's disease, and glaucoma.
When did marijuana become outlawed in the US?
The Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 made cannabis illegal across the United States. This was declared unconstitutional in 1969 and was replaced by the Controlled Substances Act. This is the act that classified marijuana as a Schedule I drug.
